My second review! 27/06/07

Hey kids,
Me again. No fancy italics or fonts this time as I'm at home on my Mac and there are no options for tarting up your blog if you don't own a PC. Don't know why, don't care either. Anyway, here goes..
Like the great big pussy I am (geddit?), I fell ill yesterday and had to cancel the gig at The Abbey which is a real pisser because that was going to be my first gig review. I was going to be great as well! Anyway, I felt like dogshit so I cancelled it. Don't worry, next week I'm playing in Stoke Newington so I'll review that instead. I've got a feeling I'll be amazing!
Anyway, to follow on from my first blog which has a nice review of my track 'Butterfly', here's a lukewarm one! These guys review you online. They're just a 40 year old divorced bloke sitting in his boxer shorts pretending to be Lester Bangs or some shit (allegedly). Their myspace is 'Living Atheist'. Check out what he said...

Artist:
Rescue Cat
Location :
United Kingdom

Song Title:
Butterfly

Genre:
Electro Bedroom

What I thought:
Alright. Nothing more. I quite like the theme, but it borders on the dead boring.
It's probably down to the unrelenting percussion, that I kind if want to set on fire half way through.
Other than that, it's perhaps worth a listen. Perhaps.

Reminds me of:
Tricky, Goldie

Score:
5/10

In a sentence:
Nah.

It's that last bit that hurts the most! NAH!!! 'Electro Bedroom' made me laugh though. I'm going to change my genre on MySpace to reflect this. It's going to be the first album title too! Goldie? Me thinks this bloke's never been to metalheadz before!
So there you go folks. It's a crazy, topsy turvy world this rock n roll. One day you're on top, next day you're on the bottom...

Until next week....

My first MySpace review! 25/06/07

Hello,

I'm Rescue Cat. I'm just your ordinary talented, handsome, modest, electro-acoustic singer-songwriter who's been told I should write a blog so that I'm down with the kids or whatever..

So, this is my first entry. I have no idea what I'm doing. If you happen to read this and give a fuck enough to tell me if I'm doing it right then please do. So, to start, I thought it would be cool to review a gig or new album or something like that. Some of the gigs will be my own so I'll try to be honest/brutally frank.

Anyway, the first gig I'm going to review isn't until tomorrow so in the meantime I thought I would show you a review of my stuff that appeared on myspace. AND it doesn't slag me off! It's a night called CDR where a bunch of saddo musicians (myself included) stand around and listen to each other's demos and then pat each other on the back. Fucking great! By the way, Mr Hudson is my friend Ben who's band The Library is doing really well. I used to play guitar for them, and funnily enough, as soon as I left to do my own music, they got a deal. Hmmm...

Rescue Cat - 'Butterfly'. A hotly tipped act this - Mr Hudson (also in the session last night) was waxing lyrical about this project and how good it is. Listen for yourself - http://www.myspace.com/rescuecatmusic. Butterfly is original, contemporary pop, bound to do well. Respect! A cat playing a vocoder too, we like that!

So that's nice. Apparently, some other myspace review site has completely slated me, so as soon as I get hold of it, I'll post it up!

That's it for now, I have to go wee wee....
