I blame the pink pointy shoes..

Hey kids, rock n roll...
How is everyone on this sh*tty morning? I'm hungover and a bit depressed (so what's new I hear you say). Apparently, according to my girlfriend, my performance at yesterday's gig was 'unprofessional'. Can you believe that? From my own bird?!! I'm surprised she even remembers, given the fact that she was off her mash on red wine. F*cking cheek!
Anyway, I was a bit crap to be fair. I wore my new pink pointy shoes (pictured below) and I blame them for me stepping on the wrong pedal during the first song which cut all the sound off completely! I felt like a right bell-end. I start the set with a really slow build up that ends in a massive crescendo, at least, it's supposed to. Instead, I killed it dead! That wasn't a good start. Anyway, I think the crowd forgave me and think I managed to claw it back towartds the end. If you think otherwise then leave a comment here! Thanks to those of you who came to support me, I won't be so shoddy next time I promise.
'Louise Golbey' was on first and I was playing guitar for her. Little lady, massive voice and massive hair. She was really good. Better than me anyway. After me were some young hairy blokes called 'One Flew Over' and they were a retro Black Crows/Pearl Jam kind of thing. The guy's voice was impressive. Nice One. An acoustic singer songwriter called 'Glenn Hodge' was on last. Seemed alright, not your usual boring delivery so that's good. However, he put me off when he stood near me in the toilet cubicle earlier in the evening and let out a massive fart while he was taking a piss. Kind of ruined the more tender moments of his set for me...
So, the latest is that I'm trying to find different gigs now. Ideally they would be club nights as my newer stuff is much more dance orientated. Any leads would be appreciated. I might even draft a few people in to help me out live. Fun and games!
My next gig is at a pub called The Macbeth in Hoxton on the 11th of Sept. Who knows what shoes I'll be wearing then....

Madchester RIP (and NO MORE ACOUSTIC GIGS?)

Hi guys,
Sorry I've been out of the loop for a while but I had a little nervous breakdown due to the tedium of the acoustic gig circuit...
Truth be told, I have been busy trying to get some new material finished and I actually noticed that there's very little acoustic guitar on any of it so maybe I can get away without actually playing any more of these w*nky gigs?! Unless it's MTV unplugged and I get paid a f*ck load of money for it. Anyway, I should have a few new tunes posted on my MySpace and my website very soon...
Other news is that Factory records boss Tony Wilson died on Friday which is very sad. He brought us bands like Joy Division, Happy Mondays, New Order, ESG, ACR and um...Northside! More importantly, he opened the Hacienda club and was responsible for the whole rave/acid house scene crossing over into the mainstream, including bands trying to fuse indie and dance music, which is very similar to what's going down right now. Fantastic. Apparently he was a bit of a stroker but he deserves props for all the stuff he managed to pull off. Rest in Peace. Here he is with Steve Coogan who played him in the film 24 Hour Party People. Watch it if you haven't already, it's pretty good.

I've got a gig in Kentish Town on Sunday night. It's at The Abbey and it's free. It's usually a decent night. It's not up it's own arse and there are at least a couple of interesting acts on every bill. Starts at 8pm. Come and say hello...

A bientot!
