Hello everybody!
It's been a while hasn't it? Well, since my last blog, not much has changed, apart from me getting a new asymmetric haircut. I quite like it. It's two haircuts in one really. If you come down to my next gig you'll see what I mean. However, some people who came down to the gig likened it to Paul Robinson from Neighbours. I think they were trying to insult me but I took it as a huge compliment...

How cool is he?
Anyway, the gig....
The venue is wicked, for a shoebox. The poster said 'Sounding like Beck overdosing on Spiritualized and Snoop Doggy Dogg' which pleased me no end. Apart from being first on, the vibe was pretty good. I managed to crowbar a couple of new numbers in too. One of them, 'Straight To Video' was compared to sounding like a cross between Sesame Street and East 17. I don't really know how to take that. Maybe I should take it on the chin? The song is actually about contemplating suicide but there you go. The public have spoken! Go here to listen and make up your own mind...

So, the band after me the Hideaways had a violin, a squeeze box and a casio drum beat. Quite nice and twee. They were like a wind-up toy at a Victorian fairground or something. The headliners Dega Breaks were much more serious, with proper haircuts, good equipment and 4 to the floor drums with spikey guitars and synths. I had to leave before they came on but I saw the soundcheck and it seemed alright-if you find that sort of thing original anymore...
Anyway, met up with a producer on Wed, so maybe I'll be doing some recording in a proper studio soon-not just sitting in my bedroom with my hands down my pants, fiddling with my hi-hat. Watch this space...
Anyway, as Cookie Monster would say '..When today feels like a curse, when life compared to death seems worse...ME LOVE COOKIE!..'
